Heather Heigert is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) who helps others learn to manage their emotions so they can work through any challenge. Whether you have experienced past trauma or are currently struggling, Heather provides unique interventions to help each client survive their circumstances. Heather builds strong therapeutic connections with the clients she works with through compassion, empathy, and genuineness. Heather values the family unit when working with children; she works alongside caregivers and siblings to promote healthy relationships, positive parenting practices, respectful problem solving skills, and open communication. Heather’s client’s work towards growth and find positive gains in their confidence, positive decision making abilities, mental health, motivation, reaching personal goals, and mending strained relationships.

Heather has 10 years’ experience working with children and families at local agencies such as The Women’s Crisis Center, Department for Children and Families, and Junction City Middle School. She is currently a full-time School Social Worker at Susan B. Anthony Middle School where she works closely with adolescents struggling with many different emotions and symptoms. Through her degrees, volunteering, internships and careers, Heather has learned to use a number of therapeutic techniques when working with children, adolescents, and families. She has been working with at-risk adolescents for the past 6+ years. Heather believes she can help your children/family to utilize new skills, be happier, and even find new and exciting ways to reclaim peace and stability in your lives.

Heather is currently taking appointments 1-2 evenings each week. Heather provides home-based and office-based services. She will be accepting clients in Manhattan, Wamego, St. George, and Westmoreland as scheduling allows. Heather works very well with children from 4 years old through age 18, and families.
