Therapy Services

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being, and it can also increase positive feelings such as compassion, self-esteem, love, courage, and peace.

Couple/Marital Counseling

The focus of couples therapy is to improve communication and set boundaries by building or rebuilding a foundation for the couple. This process helps to restore the relationship to a better and healthier level of functioning.

Co-Parenting Counseling

Online Therapy (Tele-Therapy)

Online Counseling (Telehealth therapy) increases accessibility for clients who lack adequate transportation and those who live in rural, remote areas. As long as a client has a way to connect to the internet, telehealth enables them to access mental health services.

Play Therapy

Play therapy can help children communicate, explore repressed thoughts and emotions, address unresolved trauma, and experience personal growth. It is widely viewed as an important, effective, and developmentally appropriate mental health treatment for children.

Home-based Therapy

Home-based therapy takes place in the client’s home rather than in the therapist’s office for people who would otherwise have a difficult time accessing therapy. In some cases, our therapists will offer in-home sessions when this appears to be the most beneficial form of treatment, whether access is of concern or not.

School-Based Therapy

Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluations

We offer ESA Assessments in the Manhattan and Belleville offices. These assessments require one to six sessions to allow the provider to fully assess whether the individual qualifies for an ESA, to provide appropriate education about ESA laws and regulations, to recommend follow-up services, and to write housing and/or air travel letters.

Family Services

Adoption Home Studies

At Courser Lapo, we love to do Adoption Home Studies! It’s that great feeling of preparing a place for a new family to form. Our home studies typically take two to three months to complete, but in some circumstances they can be completed in less than two months.

Custody Evaluations

Custody Evaluations, also know as a Parenting Evaluation (PE), are formal investigations that assesses the level of each parent’s respective parenting skills, and determines which parent may be best suited as the primary care giver.

Clinical Supervision

Courser Lapo Clinical and Family Services provides clinical supervision to Licensed Master Social Workers. We utilize individual, group, and online format to help supervisees gain the clinical education/education needed to successfully pass the LSCSW licensing exam and be licensed to practice independently in Kansas.
