Amy became a therapist as a “second career” after she and several of her family members navigated mental health challenges. Amy’s passion involves helping others heal and being a support to parents whose children are struggling. Amy has been in the helping professions most of her life, working in youth ministry and family ministry while parenting her children. Her faith provides a solid foundation for her own life, but she only includes faith in therapy when requested by clients.
Amy has experience working with kids and teenagers and is especially interested in helping parents walk with their children through the obstacles they are facing at home or school; however, she enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
Amy believes in the importance of looking beyond presenting symptoms to what is truly going on underneath. She seeks a balance of helping clients build coping skills to manage the day-to-day reality of their distress, while also assisting clients in addressing the underlying thought patterns, systems, and burdens that may be driving behavior. Amy also provides Adoption Home Studies. Amy is EMDR trained and is passionate about using it to help others move toward healing.
Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Family Ministry in 2002 from Manhattan Christian College, and her Master of Social Work from Washburn University in 2025.
Amy provides services in person in Belleville, Manhattan location and via Telehealth services. She looks forward to continuing working with you.
