Ashley Schroeder is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Kansas) and Licensed Professional Counselor (Missouri) who enjoys helping others learn how to slow down, enjoy the moment, and use challenges to grow stronger. Ashley has over ten years of experience as a mental health therapist and specializes in the treatment of perinatal mental health challenges, including perinatal depression, anxiety, and trauma. She is also endorsed as an infant-mental health specialist and understands the unique mental health needs of both parents and young children.
Ashley's professional experiences include providing mental health care to individuals in a variety of settings including community mental health, hospitals, schools (Pre-K through high school), a juvenile detention facility, an OB/GYN clinic, and private practice. Through her work, Ashley hopes to help others understand that mental health care is important and available for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Ashley values creating an inviting, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment in every therapy session. She believes that each client is the expert of his/her/their own life and that her role, as therapist, is to guide and support her clients toward their self-identified goals. She recognizes the importance of adjusting interventions to meet the unique needs of each person. She has helped many experience positive change through the use of cognitive-behavioral approaches. Ashley helps others learn how to recognize problematic thought patterns and behaviors and to respond to emotional stressors with more effective, healthy response styles.
