Shelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has more than twenty years of
experience working with children, adolescents, and families within schools. Shelly
has been a School Counselor in an elementary and middle school setting for most
of her career. Recently, Shelly decided to pursue clinical counseling. It is her
passion to help children, adolescents, and teens, find their voice and learn to
navigate difficult challenges in healthy ways.
Children often experience a range of emotions and situations that can feel
overwhelming. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, school challenges,
behavioral issues, or navigating difficult family transitions, Shelly is here to offer a
safe and nurturing space for them to express themselves. Her approach is tailored
to meet each child’s unique needs. She uses creative methods like art and play, but
also relies on cognitive behavioral methods, as well as solution-focused
techniques.
Shelly works closely with families, providing guidance and strategies to strengthen
family dynamics and enhance communication. Shelly’s goal is not only to support
children but to empower parents with tools to nurture their child’s emotional and
mental well-being.
Shelly provides mental health counseling in person at the Manhattan location and
via Telehealth services. Reach out for an appointment!
